Digital Health
How can the health sector benefit from IT progress? How can each of us use IT safely in the daily management of health and illness? How do we create acceptance for new applications and technologies – digital patient files, Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data?
Research at the BFH Centre focuses on people. Together with those affected – patients, relatives and professionals – practical solutions are developed, for example for dealing with patient information that brings concrete benefits in everyday life. This involves the targeted use of IT, which exploits opportunities and limits risks. The priority is a responsible approach to safety, self-determination and the physical and mental health of patients, relatives and professionals. The BFH Centre ensures that the use of IT meets the needs and demands of those involved and continuously evaluates the effects in its medical informatics laboratory and in practice.
