Smart City and Living

What will our future living spaces look like? How intelligent and sustainable will our buildings become? What opportunities will arise from new digital construction and production processes? And what innovative materials and processing methods will be available to us in the future?

These are the core questions of the Digital Living Spaces focus. Specialists from a wide range of fields such as architecture, timber construction, information technology and business are working together on the development of our future forms of living and working. The focus is always on topics such as sustainability and resource efficiency, which is why the analogue raw material wood is also of particular importance in Digital Living Spaces. The aim is to develop practical solutions, for example for increasing the attractiveness of city centres, for optimised collaboration within the framework of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and for creating affordable living space that takes people’s future requirements into account. New, innovative approaches are being developed to design the future living space optimally for people and the environment.
